Brief Career Details

Before being called to the Bar, Philip undertook a variety of occupations including working with horses. He practised in Leicester for many years, where he was Head of Chambers for over 10 years. He moved to Birmingham in 1995.

Crime

Philip acts for both Prosecution (Grade IV) and Defence in criminal cases. He has wide experience of all types of criminal allegations but in more recent years of the serious criminal cases ranging from murder and manslaughter to drugs, sexual cases and fraud. Over the past 5 years he has been involved in several high profile fraud trials. He also prosecutes for the Serious Fraud Office.

Personal Injury

Philip continues to undertake personal injury cases. He has particular experience in clinical negligence and other types of professional negligence. Philip has specialist knowledge of cases involving horse-riding accidents having qualified as a British Horse Society instructor.

Planning

He undertakes planning cases both advising and presentation at appeals.
