The Shrewsbury TeamAnnex of Cornwall Street ChambersShrewsbury Chambers, opened as an annex to Cornwall Street Chambers of Birmingham in June 2005, to provide a local service to the local legal community of Shropshire and the Marches, with all the expertise and resources of a large city centre Chambers to draw on. The Barristers based in Shrewsbury have a wealth of experience in most aspects of criminal, family and common law practice, together with the specialist knowledge in the particular fields described below. A full time local clerk, dedicated to providing a consistent, reliable and accessible service has the support of the Birmingham based clerking team and Counsel. Owain Phelps, appointed in November 2007 as the full time clerk based in the Shrewsbury annex, was born and raised in Shropshire. He graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a Law Degree in the summer of 2007. Owain compliments Chambers' management and co-ordination team with a wealth of experience, having worked for a number of years prior to his degree studies with one of the largest firms of Solicitors in Shrewsbury and Telford. His knowledge and expertise, combined with his personal and professional manner, will be a solid attribute to Chambers. Chambers’ town centre premises have full conference facilities and are used to present a programme of seminars and events.
There are more than 40 tenants at Cornwall Street Chambers who are available to assist the Shrewsbury Annex should the need arise.
