Brief Career Details
Having practised at the Birmingham Bar since 1992, Bruce Drummond left the UK in 2001 to become head of litigation for a firm in the Caribbean specialising in trust law and off-shore litigation. In a natural progression from this, he practised from 2003 as an Assistant Attorney with Fitzmaurice and Seigel in New York and Connecticut where he gained much experience in high level matrimonial finance cases especially where the issues involved company assets.
Family & Trusts Law
Bruce has wide experience in Family Law and in particular matrimonial finance and international issues, having developed a multi-jurisdictional practice.
Of particular interest are cases that involve equity and trust issues, such as applications under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and representing intervenors within family proceedings.
Commercial, Media & Entertainment Law
Bruce is a founder member of the Cornwall Street Media Law Group (CMLG). He has a wealth of experience in the music industry both as a musician in his early days and latterly as a lawyer, with specialist expertise in media and entertainment law.
Bruce was awarded a Masters Degree in Media Law from Pace University in New York.
Bruce has appeared in a number of high profile cases, including Weblinks v Cable & Wireless (WI) Ltd which set a further precedent regarding the constitutional position of monopolies. Of note he represented Silicone Isle Ltd in the widely publicised breach of trust case brought by Cinar Corporation Canada for recovery of over US$65m.
Representative clients have included: American Airlines, Merrill Lynch, Silicon Isle Ltd, Cingular Wireless, Anguilla Electricity Company Limited (ANGLEC), Bank of America, N.A, Bank One Investment Management and Trust, Caribbean Commercial Bank (Anguilla) Ltd and Scotia Bank Anguilla Limited.
