Alternatives to Court
Appa is an enthusiastic advocate of all forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as she believes that, in appropriate cases, these can often achieve better, swifter and cheaper outcomes for clients.

She trained as a collaborative family lawyer with Resolution (http://www.resolution.org.uk/) in 2011, the first barrister in the West Midlands to do so, and is an active member of the Collaborative Family Law Group West Midlands (http://www.cflg.co.uk/members-city-centre.php), her local practitioners' group which promotes the use of collaborative law and best practice.

She also trained as a family mediator in 2011 and is currently completing her accreditation for sole mediation with the Family Mediators' Association (http://www.thefma.co.uk/family_mediation).
