Crime

Lisa Hancox acts for both the Prosecution and Defence in the Crown Court and has been instructed in cases of benefit fraud, serious violence, supply of drugs and Proceeds of Crime Act applications.  She has particular experience in cases of historic sexual abuse and sexual crimes involving children.

Lisa prides herself on having a high standard of client care and is both approachable and personable. She endeavours to see proceedings through from the very first to the final hearing. As a result she receives excellent feedback from both professional and lay clients and holds a busy practice.

 

Prison Law

Lisa practises in all areas of prison law. She has represented prisoners at oral hearings before the Parole Board including those serving a mandatory life sentence for murder. Lisa regularly attends adjudication hearings on behalf of serving prisoners and advises on Judicial Review proceedings. Over time Lisa has gained an invaluable understanding of local prisons and their internal discipline procedures.
