Ian Ball has been with Chambers since 2000, having formerly worked as a Cartographic Surveyor with the Ordnance Survey, for the Law Society and the Crown Prosecution Service.
Ian graduated at the end of 2009 with a distinction in his Master of Laws degree LL.M Environmental Law at the De Montfort University, Leicester, winning the Pinfold Prize for Environmental Law. His dissertation was on “Presumed Guilty? Strict Liability, Causation and the reverse burden of proof in Health and Safety cases”.
In addition to his busy criminal practice, Ian has experience in cases which include listed buildings as well as more straightforward pollution matters, acting on behalf of the defence.
Ian has completed the Public Access Course with the College of Law and can accept instructions direct from members of the public and other bodies under this scheme in environmental matters.
