Regulatory Law
Stephen Cadwaladr’s experience of regulatory crime is extensive and varied. He has conducted many trials in the Magistrates’ Court and some in the Crown Court on behalf of the Environment Agency. His experience includes the prosecution of offences concerning water and air pollution and the mishandling of radioactive waste. He has prosecuted large national and multinational companies including Total Fina Elf and Corus Steel.
Stephen also has experience of prosecuting and defending cases brought by various Trading Standards departments, as well as acting on both sides in private prosecutions for animal cruelty brought by the RSPCA.
He has a busy general criminal practice, appearing in the higher criminal courts on a daily basis. His substantial experience of criminal cases, together with specialist knowledge of the particular problems encountered when acting in private prosecutions for regulatory offences, equips him particularly well for this type of work.
